Leavenworth’s 4th of July Celebration — A Heartfelt Tribute to America’s 250 Years!

Hosted by the Upper Valley Historical Society & Greater Leavenworth Museum

Front Street Park Gazebo — Downtown Leavenworth

This Independence Day, step into a celebration filled with history, music, powerful voices, and community pride. As we honor the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, you’ll experience a program that blends tradition, storytelling, and stirring performances — all in the heart of our Bavarian village.

🎉 What’s Happening Kick off the festivities as Uncle Sam (on stilts!) gathers children and adults to begin the celebration. Then join us for a rich, immersive program featuring patriotic music, historic readings, and tributes to the people who shaped our nation.

🎶 Musical Performances Enjoy multiple sets from the Marlin Handbell Ringers, including their medley of “Stars and Stripes Forever, Pomp and Circumstance, Yankee Doodle” . Hear the Village Voices perform beloved American classics including Shenandoah, Simple Gifts, This Land Is Your Land, and more. Join in full‑audience sing‑alongs of America the Beautiful and God Bless America.

📜 Historic Readings & Tributes Experience a dramatic reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence by Matt C. Hear Susan B. bring forward the voices of America’s early women leaders — including Abigail Adams’ call to “Remember the Ladies,” Mary Katherine Goddard, Harriet Tubman (with a call‑and‑response of Go Down Moses), and Elizabeth Cady Stanton’s Declaration of Sentiments . Celebrate Julia Ward Howe with a performance of the Women’s Battle Hymn of the Republic.
